Welcome to the frontpage of a work in progress of the OSHP Professional Affairs Council (PAC). The PAC continues to evaluate the utility of the OSHP webpage for its members.
Historically, web pages have usually provided information to the user in a one-way direction - the "webmaster" adds content to the website and people would then find it and read it. In the case of OSHP, it would be the Board of Directors, Chapter Chairs, and Council Chairs that would communicate information to its membership via the OSHP webpage. Organization and dissemination of information via a webpage can be time consuming, and in a volunteer organization like OSHP, this can be an extremely daunting task for any individual or small group of people to manage. Imagine, though, if each member (or at least 50 of them) was able to contribute something to the webpage - better yet, what if members' contributions included topics and material that was of particular interest to them. This dynamic and collaborative environment would eventually fuel itself with information that was important to its members.
Newer web-based technologies now offer opportunities for us to communicate and collaborate with one another.
This pilot project is one attempt to expand into newer web-based technologies including Wikis (this site) and Blogs (http://oshprx.wordpress.com). These two technologies are particularly interesting because they allow a community of people (eg. OSHP members) to participate in the sharing of information between one another. This web-based communication model is aligned with one of OSHP's missions to support its members through provision of a forum for the exchange of ideas and opportunities.

Wow! This is a great tool. Think about how much information we could share!

Great idea Joe! I created a new page for 2015 that members can add and browse topics.
